When our friend Jeni told us that she was leaving last year, we were quite sad to see her go. I had always had fun walking with her and enjoyed our weekly dinner get-togethers. But there was one advantage to her leaving… her apartment would be vacant. Now, the apartment that we were in was just fine, plenty of space, nothing significantly broken, etc. The one disadvantage was that it only had two windows and they were both west facing. This meant that in the winter, we got absolutely no direct sunlight (it rises and sets in the South all winter). But this new apartment- it has tons of south facing windows! So, in my quest for more light in the winter we moved apartments this past week. Overall, we are loving the new apartment and thoroughly enjoying the light streaming in the windows!
The above picture is our kitchen. As you may be able to tell from the next picture, the kitchen and living room are actually one room but we have tried to create separate living spaces with our arrangement of the furniture.
Our living room. If you look closely on the right wall, you can notice the whale baleen that we have hanging up above our paintings.
The bedroom. Note the two windows and the amount of light they let in! The dog’s bed, with all his toys, is at the foot of ours.
And finally, our bathroom. Much larger than the one we had last year.
